Hello, it’s Mike, Finale Inventory. This is a short demonstration video illustrating how to scan packed orders for one sublocation.  One scan and done. Now, this example is gonna go over a live demo, using the barcode scanner, for the example of one sublocation warehouses. Okay, so let’s cover that. So remember, this example is gonna be if your warehouse only has one sublocation in it, not multiple. So there’ll be another video with the multiple sublocation example. So this one we’re focusing on your warehouse if you just had M0 or something like that, but you only have one sublocation. All right, so let’s jump into this. We’re going to jump over to Finale Inventory. You should recognize this. Let’s take a look at what we’re going to cover. So we’re gonna look at some sales here that I have in here. I’ve got three example orders to illustrate how to scan packed orders for one sublocation.

So scan one, scan two, and scan three. These are orders examples. Let’s say they came in from ShipStation. So here we are in the ShipStation dashboard. You may be familiar with this. So their orders may have come in from your website. We’ve got these three orders. Most of you would kinda select all three orders like this and do a print packing slips. So when you do the print packing slips, that’s gonna give you some individual packing slips. We always tell you, “Put the Barcode on of the order ID on the packing slip somewhere either in the top or in the bottom.” So this is the normal. So assuming you did all of this, so you would take those packing slips, all right? You use those packing slips to drive this process, okay? So let’s imagine how that’s gonna happen. So let’s pull up the barcode scanner, all right?

So, but before I do that, let me go ahead and jump to my stock screen here. So we’re going to be picking these items. You noticed that I just have the sublocation M0, and I’ve got three different items in the inventory, part number one, two, and three. All right. And we’re going to go pick some orders against these. So let me pick up my scanner here. Now, you guys may recognize this. So what we’re gonna make sure we do is, of course, always remember to sync. So you guys haven’t seen this before, you’re going to need to be on the latest version. So I’m gonna sync my scanner here. So as soon as I sync my scanner, it asked me to log in. I’m going to update making sure I’ve got those orders that have come in through ShipStation. So I’m just simply walking through the process of synching the scanner.

Now, that I’ve got the scanner, we’re gonna check out this new feature. So let’s go into pick. We can use basic. All right, so we’re gonna use this basic feature. You’ll notice that now there’s a new item here, it’s called “scan packed orders,” all right? Now, the original one was “pack item by item.” That’s where it made you go to a specific area, go scan each individual item, and so on. Rather tedious, right? Now, this one, all we do is scan packed orders. So we’re gonna choose scan packed orders and it’s gonna default to your warehouse, sublocation there, mine’s defaulted to the M0. That’s where everything is right now. So imagine this is like you skipping the whole picking process and just packing these orders right out of your warehouse, all right? So we’re going to say yes, that is where I’m gonna pack them from.

So I hit enter. Now, it’s asking me to scan an order. So, of course, I would have those packing slips. It doesn’t matter which one I grabbed. I’m just gonna grab one here in my hand. Scan that order. Now, the scanner asked me, “Hey, packing confirmation.” Notice that it says, “Okay for part number one and number three.” The green is signifying that there is enough inventory on hand at the packing location to go ahead and pack these orders. So all I have to do is hit, pack. Now, remember this is using a specific setting that’s always making me see a visual of what’s in the order. So all I gotta do to pack the next order is simply say, “Scan the order.” It gives me a confirmation that’s what’s in the order. If I think I did that fine, I just go ahead and go roll with it. Pack. Okay.

So I can do the same thing on the next order to demonstrate how to scan packed orders for one sublocation. I scan it and it says, “Yup, there’s two different items on there, two different quantities.” I’m good with that. Pack it. That’s it. That’s all there is to it. That’s scanning with a new scan packed orders with the visual feature on. Now, let’s go back and let’s erase this activity, and let’s watch another option you can turn on. You can turn the visual confirmation off. So let’s do that. Okay. So the way I would do that, I’m just gonna hit menu and exit to main menu. And just so that we can see this, I’m going to go to more and then more. I’m gonna delete what I just did here. All right. So after I delete what I just did, let’s go turn the settings on, so I can show you. There’s a new setting feature down here in the 50s, okay, for these this new scan option.

So a number 55 here on the screen is showing you pack, scan, order, verify, and it was visual. So that’s what was bringing up that list that would be reminding me what’s in the order. So some of you higher volume operators, that may still be too much time, you don’t want to do that. Well, you can change that. So I’m gonna select this, change it to none, and hit done. Now, let’s go repack those orders again, all right? So I’m gonna do pick, basic, scan packed orders. All right, so let’s imagine it’s still confirming, where are you going to pack these from? I’m gonna pack them right out of the warehouse.

So notice this time, scan order. All right, so I’m gonna pick up any order, watch what it does. It just goes right to it. It did not give me a visual. At the bottom, it says, “Packed order, Scan number two,” or the number two order. Now, I’m gonna scan another order and it just goes, “Hey, I packed that one, too”. And then I can scan another one. It’s just one scan per order, you’re done. That’s as simple as it is to use the scan packed orders for one sublocation.
