Add Stock using the Barcode Scanner

This video shows how to add stock using the barcode scanner on our software. This operation is very easy to do and is frequently used to make adjustments to your inventory when you realize you have more than reported in the software.  This operation allows to add stock using the scanner without using the purchase order process.

Hello, this is Mike, Finale Inventory. Gonna give you a short demonstration on how to add stock using the barcode scanner without using the purchase order process. So if you don’t care to use purchase orders or you just wanna add stock to a storage location, you can do that easily with the barcode scanner. So let’s take a look real quick. Then see this, for instance, this part number here, this Western Digital hard drive. We have none on hand so it’s not in our inventory system. So let’s go ahead and use the system to add two units into stock. So what I’m going to do is take the barcode scanner here. And we will go to the “More” button here. And let’s do an “add stock.” It’s gonna ask us to enter the sublocation. So I’m gonna scan this particular bin right here in front of me.

Now that I scanned it, it basically tells us, hey it’s gonna go to A08. So it tells us to scan the item that we wanna add to stock. So I’m gonna take this hard drive here and I’m just gonna scan the barcode on it. And the system recognizes it, puts it right into stock. We’re gonna take another one of the same unit and we’ll add that into stock as well. So that was quick and easy. Next thing we do, we go to menu, exit to main menu. Now let’s add those units to the cloud. So what we will do is go to home, barcode scanning, connect to the docked mobile scanner. Connect to it, you’ll see the two units being added to stock change type. Sync it. I’m just gonna transmit it right up to the cloud. Say OK and let’s go check our inventory. We should have two units. And we do right here at location A08. That’s all there is to add stock using the mobile scanner.
