Connecting a digital scale to barcode scanner

This video shows the process of connecting a digital scale to barcode scanner to allow you to perform stock operations for your products tracked by weight.  This is an advanced feature of the scanner and allows some our customers to more accurately tracking stock of their products that are measured by weight.

Hi, this is Mike from Finale Inventory. In this session, I’m going to show you the process of connecting a digital scale to barcode scanner to perform various stock operations.

Okay, here’s a quick demonstration of the new wireless weighing capability we have with the barcode scanner, just for illustration. So, I’m doing a stock take here on the screen. You can see where you just scan a barcode and then enter a quantity. So the quantity is going to come from the scale itself. Everything is wireless here. There’s no attachment. So you would find your bar code for the item that you’re going to do a stock take for and scan that. That gets my item into there, and you’ll notice that the queue moves to…or the prompt moves right here to the quantity.

So I’m going to show you, you can see the scale back here, we have 622 grams. So all I have to do is press this right here on the scale itself and you’ll see the entry come in to the screen on the stock take. So I’m automatically doing a conversion from the grams to kilograms here. So I’m taking this 622 grams dividing it by 1000, and go ahead and rounding off at 2 decimal places. So that’s all you have to do, and then you just hit enter. You’ve just done a stock take from weighing on a scale. You will see everything is real and live. So that’s all there is to it. Enjoy.
